Join us for a quick’n’helpful hands-on overview of three simple ways to put zines together: stapling, post-binding, and pamphlet sewing with thread.
This class is a hands-on demo, ideal for total zine beginners, that allows all students the chance to get a tactile understanding of how each method works. We’ll be using both our industrial equipment around the shop, and exploring simple ways to accomplish the same thing at home. Each student will leave with a mocked-up example of the three techniques they've learned.
We’ll also go over the pros and cons of each method, basic notes on digital set up for each, and answer any questions folks have. If you're new to zines (especially if you're a vendor at Milwaukee Zine Fest in April), this simple workshop is a great place to start.
The experience is taught by Bindery owner, Zach Lifton, who oversee all zine production from layout through binding here at our book factory.
