Join us for a paper marbling adventure--even if you've taken marbling with us before!
This class explores specific tricks and techniques in marbling that create wowing swirls and eye-popping patterns. It is suitable for total beginners who want to experiment, but delves into more intermediate and advanced techniques as well (so if you've taken marbling with us in the past, this class is a new twist with more to learn)!
Participants will explore with color, mixtures, and style: results will vary from person to person and sheet to sheet in this fun, casual evening.
Each student will learn the basics of marbling set-up including appropiate bath preparation, paper choice, and ink selection (all provided). Everyone will prep their own bath and colors and use a set of special tools for personalized results! Students can expect to make a collection of 8 to 10 sheets of beautiful hand-marbled paper ready to be used in their next great project.
(Paper will be wet at the end of this class. Students may either take it home to dry or leave it at The Bindery for staff to dry and professionally flatten. Dry sheets can be picked up during regular business hours.)

>> Special Note: participants are encouraged to consider our upcoming master class to create a 19th Century-style full leatherbound book. The papers produced in this marbling course will be the right size, weight and grain direction to use as decorative endsheets for the final books produced.

Masks are not required at the time of this posting, but are very welcome. This may change by the time of the class, and The Bindery reserves the right to require masks or other safety precautions at any time. Participants will be alerted to any changes prior to the workshop.
