This class is for queer-identified folks only (and taught by a queer instructor) in order to create safe space for LGBTQIA artisans to gather, work, and learn.
This quick letterpress experience is designed to get folks printing on our Vandercook using wood type we'll already have set up and ready to go on the press (with a message of positivity from the Queer Commnunity itself)!
We'll go over some fundamentals about letterpress printing including terminology, proper practice, and press operation. Everyone will have a chance to use the press to print their own copies of the simple poster... and leave with a few to display at home and give to friends!
Curious about lettepress? Feel like getting inky with your fellow Wisco-Queers? Great: this is the experience for you.
(Letterpress students always get 10% off full letterpress orientation should they wish to join The Bindery as a member to continue making posters of their own!)
*Masks are not required at the time of this posting, but are very welcome. This may change by the time of the class, and The Bindery reserves the right to require masks or other safety precautions at any time. Participants will be alerted to any changes prior to the workshop.
