ABOUT ABOUT

Milwaukee Zine Fest is an annual celebration of zine culture, small press publishing, and other independent, self-created wonders in magazine-like format.  Dozens of vendors from all over the country pop up at Milwaukee Public Library's Central Branch to sell their wares: wacky, artistic, creative and sometimes highly personal works in simple booklet form.  What's a zine? Why do zines matter? Check out milwaukeezinefest.org to learn more.

Join us for a fun day of free browsing, special workshops, hands-on experiences, and the chance to support a vibrant part of Milwaukee's artistic heritage. First formed in 2008, MZF is one of country's longest-standing independent zine festivals, run by a group of dedicated volunteers, produced by The Bindery, and now in partnership with our friends at Milwaukee Public Library.

2022 marks a return to an in-person fest for the first time since 2019 due to the pandemic. This year will include fewer vendors and special events to allow for social distance. Masks are required for everyone in the building (regardless of vaccination status).

While you don't need a ticket to attend, this year we're trying to get a sense of anticipated attendees just in case we need to pivot or otherwise address access. Please let us know you're coming by getting a free ticket (again, you don't need to bring it with you or do anything else: just show up!  We can't wait to see you!)
