Join us for a paper marbling adventure! This class is suitable for beginners who want to experiment and explore with color, style and technique: results will vary from person to person and sheet to sheet in this fun, casual evening.
Each student will learn the basics of marbling set-up including appropiate bath preperation, paper choice, and ink selection (all provided). We'll then experiment with several bold paper colors and a variety of pigments--with each student preparing and using their own for personalized results! Students can expect to make a collection of 10 sheets of beautiful hand-marbled paper ready to be used in their next great project.
(Paper will be wet at the end of this class. Students may either take it home to dry or leave it at The Bindery for staff to dry and professionally flatten. Dry sheets can be picked up during regular business hours.)
*note: students in this class get 10% off our upcoming hardcover notebook class or our Japanese stab binding class if they'd like to use their marbled paper to integrate into a book! (See our full calendar for details.) Please sign up for this class and then contact us before signing up for bookbinding so that we can apply the discount!
Masks are not required at the time of this posting, but are very welcome. This may change by the time of the class, and The Bindery reserves the right to require masks or other safety percautions at any time. Participants will be alerted to any changes prior to the workshop.
