Since Doors Open tickets to our site always sell out via Historic Milwaukee, we like to offer an autumn public tour to those who missed their chance!
Stop in for a tour of our facility with owner and Managing Direction, Zachary Lifton. This casual walkthrough will feature the areas where we print, sew, and create books using 100 year-old equipment in the heart of Bay View. We'll touch on our history as the former Wisconsin Book Bindery, and take a look at some of our tools and favorite antique machinery in motion!
This tour is Q&A-focused, meaning the tour will be tailored as we go to discuss what the group is most interested in learning. All guests can expect to see some interesting old book repair work, as well as some brand new creations made daily. Everyone will leave with a tiny memento of their time with The Bindery--that we'll make together during your stay!
Our building is fully wheelchair accessible including its restrooms. All ages welcome keeping in mind that this tour is geared toward an adult audience. Close-toed shoes are recommended for the tour, and required if participating in the hands-on portion.
