Create cover-to-cover custom spiral notebooks with team bearbear and team Bindery! With spiral binding, every page can be a different paper, thickness, or color, with diverse elements woven together for a handy notebook that fits your needs and style. Perfect for grocery lists, jotting down dreams, potential dog name ideas, drawings of trees, and tiny poems--you can make one for yourself and one for a friend (or, shhh, two for you: we won't tell).
In this workshop each participant will build two reporter-style memo books with a coil binding on the top, short edge. During this class students will first make Risographed front and back covers for their notebooks, using collage as the basis for their Riso prints. Don't know what Risography is? That's ok: the bears will teach you how this environmentally friendly print-process works.
Students will also be provided with various pre-printed interior page options (lines, graph, dots and blank) along with other creative materials to insert for color and vibe. Layer your notebook up just how you want it: anything that can have holes punched into it can go into a spiral binding!
We'll wrap up by learning how to spiral bind the pages of our books together, with several color choices of plastic coil provided. Each book made in this class will be completely different from the rest: we look forward to seeing what you come up with!
Masks are not required at the time of this posting, but are very welcome. This may change by the time of the class, and The Bindery reserves the right to require masks or other safety percautions at any time. Participants will be alerted to any changes prior to the workshop.
