Join us for a paper marbling adventure! This class is suitable for total beginners who want to experiment and explore with color, style and technique: results will vary from person to person and sheet to sheet in this fun, casual evening.
Each student will learn the basics of marbling set-up including appropriate bath preparation, paper choice, and ink selection (all provided). We'll then experiment with several bold paper colors and a variety of pigments--with each student preparing and using their own for personalized results! Students can expect to make a collection of 8 to 10 sheets of beautiful hand-marbled paper ready to be used in their next great project.

Paper will be wet at the end of this class. Students may either take it home to dry or leave it at The Bindery for staff to dry and professionally flatten. Dry sheets can be picked up during regular business hours.

>> Special Note: participants are encouraged to consider our upcoming masterclass to create a traditional-style full leatherbound book. The papers produced in this marbling course will be the right size, weight and grain direction to use as decorative endsheets for the final books produced.
