Join us for a paper marbling adventure--even if you've taken marbling with us before! This class builds off the skills learned in our Marbling 101 class (which is not a prerequisite, but certainly suggested).
Our Special Techniques class explores specific tricks and tools used in marbling that create wowing swirls and eye-popping patterns. It is suitable for beginners who want to experiment, but delves into more intermediate and advanced techniques, skipping over some of the important, foundational basics that we cover in Marbling 101.
Participants will explore with color, mixtures, and style: results will vary from person to person and sheet to sheet in this fun, casual evening.
Each student will learn about appropriate bath preparation, paper choice, and ink selection (all provided). Everyone will prep their own bath and colors, and use a set of special tools for personalized results! Students can expect to make a collection of 8 to 10 sheets of beautiful hand-marbled paper ready to be used in their next great project.
(Paper will be wet at the end of this class. Students may either take it home to dry or leave it at The Bindery for staff to dry and professionally flatten. Dry sheets can be picked up during regular business hours.)

>> Special Note: participants are encouraged to consider our upcoming masterclass to create a full leatherbound book. The papers produced in this marbling course will be the right size, weight and grain direction to use as decorative endsheets for the final books produced.
