Join us for a two-part class to make a custom set of 10 marbled and foil stamped holiday cards! Skip the Hallmark aisle this season and send some extra love through the mail with something you create yourself. Each card will be unique (including the stamping): example photos are just for show! Let's see what you come up with in this limited capacity, one-off workshop.
This class happens on two consecutive Saturdays:
November 16th, 1pm to 4pm
November 23th, 1pm to 4pm
Session 1: Let's Marble!
During this first session, we'll learn some basics regarding set-up and technique for marbling on thicker cardstock instead of just paper. We'll also explore a few special patterns and discuss how to make a marbled set of items that look the same or similar (for those that'd like their cards to match). *Note that you may wish to take our Marbling Patterns class first to get an in-depth review of special techniques, and have some practice first!
All papers will be wet at the end of this session and will be left at The Bindery to dry and get professionally pressed and flattened by our team before session 2!
Session 2: Card Creation and Foil Stamping
Students return to craft their final cards and foil stamp the fronts. This involves cutting down marbled sheets to the proper size, creasing & folding, and corner-rounding if desired! We'll have two different options set up in our hot foil stampers, and several colors of metallic foil to choose from! We'll discuss foil stamping techniques and everyone will get the chance to stamp each of their cards by hand!
Students will leave class with their set of 10 custom cards along with envelopes. Consider trying your hand at Calligraphy, offered in tandem, to fully deck-out your custom cards!
